I would like to request that occasionally you talk about the food you eat, I’m very interested in food, which might be because I’m hungry, but whatever.
I tried to focus a bit more on food than I otherwise would’ve during the food festival entry because of this, and when I nibbled on some Guinea Pig a week or two ago, I took some extra pictures with this in mind. Actually, that’s not true. I was eating an animal that is served in such a way that it’s still kind of grimacing at you while you eat it, with tiny little fried paws locked in a perpetual “Dude, what the hell..?” gesture. I was going to take plenty of pictures of it regardless.
But, it does bring up that I’m more than willing to focus on things people might find interesting that I might otherwise overlook. At the very least, any questions people have keep me connected to the rest of the world, and might get me checking out new things. Comments, from friends, family or strangers, make me feel all warm inside and more importantly, let me know people are actually reading this thing.
And feedback helps make the site better, whether it be an anal spelling correction or “It really sucks navigating around your site.” For instance, the Photos section as it currently stands is godawful. I’m using something called Gallery2 and despite seeing it play nicely with other blogs, I find it a tremendous pain in the ass. There doesn’t seem to be a way to turn off that bar on the left properly, and when I link to pictures in the Gallery, the blog entry ends up looking retarded. All stuff for the to-do list.
For anyone out there actually reading this, thanks! It’s a great way for me to stay connected, and the experiences so far have made for fun writing as well.
Later.

Well, I for one have been waiting for DAYS for these last 2 entries. Breaking the bats wings?! for crying out loud. What a stupid exhibition. It appeared that the locals had the same reaction as you? I have noticed a tad more typos and a few less commas that I am used to seeing from you, I assume it is the lack of time and the desire to get the article out. I feel sorry for Luis a bit, with nothing much to work with and still having his dream. I am Mucho surprised to hear you are riding in such nice buses. I pictured 45 year old school buses with no shocks, or the like. Miss you. What’s next? Write more!

Keep going, Yancy. I’m reserving my comments for the end, because they’re as a writer, and I want to view the blog as a whole, but I can say that I am enjoying this all so much and eagerly await each new update.
Ahhh cuye. There was almost nothing as disturbing to my American sensibility as visiting a bakery and seeing a clay cavern full of guinea pigs running around, and knowing they were no one’s pets…that they’re food.

I wait for your STB daily as well.
And laugh. hysterically.
miss you.

I really love your site. I can totally hear your voice in my head when I read your sweet, sweet blogs.

People are reading and laughing and enjoying – we know cause they email & call us – Rich & Duane & Kim were reading them to Dorothy & Keith and said stuff like “he is such an awesome writer!” Carol calls and laughs in her deep ha ha & her kids check daily for more postings (she also let me know that Tessies friend’s family was worried cause they haven’t heard from you yet) My office is printing the entries and reading at lunch which is when I cringe at some of the language – Stephanie says she needs a dictionary when she is reading – Mary reads them to AJ when she is babysitting….and Rich Sr. is navigating the internet like a pro to read your stuff — send pictures of where you are living – the coffee shop you call from – and whats with the spanish classes — saw your first story of Choney in the Reporter -wow was that the same place in your blogs – good job making it sound visitable – should we subscribe?

I think I speak for most of us:
We want to read your article!

Yes, the article in the Reporter. How to see it?

I too await to hear what adventures you’ve undertaken. Keep up the writing!

I can help you out with that Gallery 2 sidebar issue — we’ll have to edit the theme template a bit?

Keep writing Yanc, I really enjoy your blog.

Julia is right… I want to see the article!! You know I love your blog and your writing style. If I keep telling you, your head might get too big and that giant red sore might get out of control!

Oh, I have a question: was there a lot of local talk about our elections? Was there a big reaction to the results?
[Reply]
I started reading it today and have made it this far starting from the very first post. Very fascinating. Thank you Yancy!
